Synthomir is 8-bit synth based on Atmega328 chip (Arduino). It was created as a kit for Radiona.org makerspace. I did the electronic design and programming and the cool shape and graphics were designed by Damir Prizmić.
Synthomir has three playing modes:
- theremin mode — LDR controls the pitch, pot selects the sound (sine wave, few FM generated sounds) and key triggers the sound
- drum machine — pot selects the sound (kick, snare, clap, hihat, beep), key triggers the sound and LDR controls the bitcrush effect. This mode also has simple looper mode (hold key for 2 seconds)
- synth — pot changes the pitch, key triggers the sound and LDR adds suboctave and portamento
